Watercolor Retreat with Katie Stocks

Introduction to the magical world of watercolor, designed specifically for the complete beginner or one who wants to go back to review their skills and techniques. Impressionism in Gouache with Tara Kemp
Adult Class
The class will explore water soluble Gouache. Students will learn Gouache materials and techniques for creating Impressionistic paintings that emphasize loose brushwork and a rich color palette. Beginners-Intermediate. Will include composition, values, warm/cool colors, color mixing & atmospheric distance. Will paint both still life and provided landscape photos.

Students will learn how to simplify what they see, trust the process and embrace happy accidents as part of the creative journey.

Transform ordinary tissue paper into a versatile mixed media art using paint, stamps, mark-making building layers on a wooden canvas/panel (8x8). Demos will focus on creating custom surfaces, using transparent layers to soften/blend color, texture and visual interest.
