Plus: Love and Other Acts of Subversion is a 22-piece installation created to accompany the new album by local musician Forest Mountain Lion. The central album cover painting by Hosanna White captures the album's spirit of resistance while the nine song paintings by Asante Riverwind bring all of the album's themes and nature imagery to life. The art illustrates the album's two main themes – unconditional love, and care for the earth.

The installation debuted in July 2025 at New Zone Gallery along with an album release show. Sarjé Haynes of New Zone Gallery said: "The installation is a collaborative celebration of ecological hope. Forest's music and lyrics pair perfectly with the visual experience of Asante and Hosanna's artwork."

The album Love and Other Acts of Subversion by Forest Mountain Lion is available now on all platforms: Listen to the album here.           www.forestmountainlion.com

A Painting Retrospective by Dottie Chase

and recent acrylic abstract paintings by Marian Angele.

Dottie Chase has always been game for taking up a creative challenge and learning something new. She took night classes in sculpture and ceramics. She enjoyed studying theatrical makeup and using it with Eugene's Very Little Theater. In an early job she had for the Eugene Hotel, they needed an ice sculpture for a banquet.she carved them a large swan, which led to another job sculpting a replica of the Hotel from a giant supply of butter. She organized fundraisers for many different organizations, and was excited by finding new ways to create interesting environments. When she owned the Oregon Entertainment Agency she booked Alice Cooper and his band – and did his makeup for that show.

She had a lifelong admiration for the masters of painting, from Caravaggio to Vermeer, to John Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer. Being involved in the Emerald Art Association she was happy to study with several contemporary masters who came to teach, including Daniel Greene, Dawn Emerson, Ben Konis, Harley Brown and Eric Wiegardt, among others.

When she worked in a medium such as oil, and she got to a point where she felt confident with it, she wanted to learn a different medium. This led to studying watercolor, pastel and acrylic.

She's  experimented with still life, landscape, architectural studies and animals, it is portraiture that has the largest place in her heart. Portraying the life in a person’s eyes is a terrific challenge that she finds fulfilling. Her portraiture led to many commissions throughout her career. It’s always a thrill to have someone say that she's captured the essence of their loved one!

Dottie would be pleased if those who read her story and view her work would be inspired to pursue a passion and learn something new.

This exhibit of recent acrylic abstract paintings by Marian Angele introduces some of her larger works, showcasesher love of fluid lines, color,  intuitive rhythms, and organic forms based on her feeling of the connection between the conscious and subconscious world. Her work is an eclectic exploration of the landscapes of memory, dream, the natural world and time.

Show dates are November 4th- 26th, 2025.
