Rather than have the police patrol/ control parking, the City of Springfield has turned it over to Diamond Parking. This means the street "free" parking and lot diagonal to EAC  has a two hour limit Mon.-Sat. until 5pm and the front (South) area of the lot between the Emerald Art Center and Springfield History Museum is 3 hr. parking  Mon.- Fri. (This lot is free and unlimited time parking on Saturdays and Sundays) This can be inconvenient to downtown visitors staying or working longer..

Otherwise, unlimited time parking is only available on C Street or beyond. (North)

Permit parking is available for a monthly fee.
