Keith BennettWhat interests me as an artist is the challenge of interpreting life by feeling my way through an image by the act of painting or drawing. My approach to art is the translation of an image through a tactile experience of using color, positive and negative space, mixed media, brush strokes, and line work. My style is referred to as gestural expressionism, which is collaboration between lines, shapes, and forms using color for emotion or depth. I like to break down the complexity of an image leaving room for the viewer to interpret the meaning of the image based on the viewer’s own perception, experience, or understanding.
