Carol Plaia

Carol PlaiaCarol has made art since her earliest memory, earned her living as an artist of one kind or another for most of her adult life, and is self-taught. She is now retired, and no longer makes “art on demand.” She has made wearable, fine art masks since 1984, and costumes since the late 1960s. She is a dedicated advocate for artists, having served for many years on various boards, committees, and commissions. Since retiring, she has explored painting, clay sculpture, and photo montage. She never has any idea what she’ll try next. If anyone else knows, please keep it secret, at least from her.
