2019 Dotty & Frank Light Youth Art Camp
Unique summer opportunity for young artists!
The Emerald Art Center in Springfield is looking for students interested in the Arts for a Youth Art Camp to be held this summer at the EAC.
The 2019 EAC Youth Art Camp is designed to be a one-week art camp for middle school students, and a one-week art camp for high school students who reside in the Eugene and Springfield School Districts and all outlying areas. Students will be able to learn from highly accomplished instructors.
The five-day camps will be both fun and busy, incorporating elements for a well-rounded visual arts experience: working in color, critical thinking, art history, composition and analysis. Learning these elements will help our youth gain knowledge in arts education. This will foster an appreciation for the visual arts and understanding of the intrinsic values the arts bring to enhance our quality of life and strengthen community.
This program will engage students who would be otherwise underserved in our schools, to think creatively in all disciplines.
The camps will run July 15-19 for middle school students (sixth, seventh and eighth grades) and July 22-26 for high school students.
All classes run 1-5 p.m., are limited to 15 students per class and will be held at the Emerald Art Center, 500 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon.
The camp is a joint effort by the Dotty & Frank Light Family Endowment and the Emerald Art Center. Thanks to the Dotty & Frank Light Endowment, the Emerald Art Center will be able to produce an arts education program for our youth on an annual basis.
Registration opens April 22nd and runs through July 12th. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
